About This Course

Every poet eventually writes enough work to complete and assemble a full-length poetry manuscript (48-60 pages) but needs guidance on final revisions and submission for publication. The class will cover: manuscript formatting; strategies for manuscript title selection; strategies for ordering the poems in the manuscript; epigraph selection; use of dedication; strategies for maintaining consistency of voice throughout the manuscript; workshop commentary on poems for final revision; and, a discussion of the mechanics of manuscript submission. With the use of lectures, practical workshops, and instruction on how and where to submit the manuscript, by the end of the class you will have a poetry manuscript closer to submission for publication.
