Important Update on Financial Aid Processing
Recent regulatory changes resulting from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (commonly referred to as OB3) are requiring institutions nationwide to adjust their financial aid processing timelines. As a result, financial aid processing for the 2026–27 academic year will be delayed.

At this time, we estimate that 2026–27 aid processing will begin in early June. We recognize that this delay may create challenges for students and are actively working to implement the new requirements so that aid offers can be issued accurately and in full compliance with federal regulations.

While institutions continue to await final implementation guidance related to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, it is currently understood that loan eligibility will be subject to proration based on full‑time enrollment status. Students planning to use federal financial aid should carefully consider how loan proration and overall eligibility may impact their ability to cover educational costs in programs that are federally eligible.

We will continue to post updates as additional information becomes available.

UCLA Extension offers five programs that are eligible for Federal Financial Aid. To be considered for federal financial aid, you must be enrolled in an eligible program, meet personal eligibility criteria, and successfully complete the application process. Courses that are not part of the approved program curriculum will not qualify for financial aid.
